One of the last few wild rice left on earth is Bamboo rice. Wild Bamboo rice is collected by the tribes of western ghats from the seeds of flowered bamboo, is known for its nutritive qualities. Though the nutrition value of wild bamboo rice is not fully explored, it is a unshaken truth that it is a very good substitute for the polished white rice. How to consume? Wild bamboo rice is hard by nature compared to any type of rice we consume. Consuming just Bamboo rice for us (city denizens) would be difficult. The best way to consume is to add bamboo rice to your regular rice, may be two or three table spoon of bamboo rice to the regular rice quantity. Two or three table spoon of Bamboo rice has to be soaked in water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Add the soaked Bamboo rice to the regular rice and cook it together Itメs a proven fact that consumption of bamboo rice is a rich source of nutrition to health. Disclaimer: Globally , there is no health impact to human beings observed till date due to consumption of wild bamboo rice, however in such issue, consult your doctor. We have learnt about the benefits of wild rice through the tribes in western ghats and through few internet sources. Tribes who live in western ghats believe that regular consumption of wild bamboo rice will make them a powerful human. Few Ayurveda notes that Bamboo rice could be a cure for modern diseases like diabetes, pressure related and other life style diseases.
